What is Reliability Centered Maintenance?
Reliability Centered Maintenance, also called RCM, is a rigorous technique for analysis and improvement of your plant maintenance and reliability strategies.

Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
A Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis, or FMECA, is the first step of the Reliability Centered Maintenance process. By defining your plant in a hierarchy of Locations, Functions, Functional Failure Modes and Causes you can further understand and improve your reliability and maintenance strategies.
A FMECA enables you to identify the most critical Failure Modes of your plant. The RCMCost Module automates the FMECA process and can tell you which of your components have the greatest impact on unreliability.
By identifying these critical components, which have high severity rankings or a high probability of occurrence, you can target your budget to make value-for-money improvements to your strategy.
Improving your Maintenance Strategies
The RCMCost Module allows you to enter your labor, equipment and spares requirements per cause; details of costs, capacities, number of staff and time delays can be entered.
These resources can be assigned to Preventive Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance and Inspection tasks for every cause.
Using the Isograph Monte-Carlo Simulation Engine, the RCMCost Module can analyze each task and advise you on the optimum maintenance strategy for each component block in your plant.
